MTB2 Conversion
(for Standard Length Minis)
No need in extending your
Mini for this swap. This kit allows you to fit the Honda B Series engine
into your Mini without any external body modifications. The MTB2 Series was
designed to install Honda’s B Series DOHC engines into the Classic Mini
(1959-2000), upgrading the Classic Minis A-Series engine with today’s most
trusted engines built by Honda.
We have taken all of the headaches out of this engine swap by developing
the MTB2 subframe. Specifically designed for the Standard length Mini and
the Honda B Series
engine, the MTB2 subframe mounts directly to the Mini using the two stock
Mini tower front subframe mounting bolts, then the Honda engine mounts
directly to the subframe using the hardware and brackets that are supplied
with the Kit. It is as simple as that!
Required: Deep Dish Wheels (7mm -Offset) will
allow you to have a tighter turning radius. We can build custom arms to
fit other wheel sizes, but we will need to know your wheel dimensions at
the time of ordering. You can also use a 1" spacer.
You will also have to modify the intake manifold for this conversion (see
Installation Guide below).
The MTB2 Kit #530000 Includes the following:
MTB2 Subframe, RH and LH Fully Adjustable Upper
Suspension Arms, RH
and LH Lower Suspension Arms, Alternator bracket, 2 Custom Hybrid
Chromoly 400hp Axle Shafts, and all of the Hardware and Instructions that
you will need for the Honda B Engine Installation.
All subframes are painted black like in photos.
Additional steering modifications are required to convert RHD Minis.
This
kit
was designed to use 1992-95 Honda EG Civic mounts or 1994-2001 Acura
Integra DC mounts. Other modifications may be required. It is best to
start this project using an OBD1 or OBD2 engine.
